New Products and Services from Trend Micro Form Comprehensive Security Solution to Fight Spyware

Malicious spyware has the ability to monitor a user’s computing habits and private information, sending information to third parties without the user’s knowledge. To most organizations, spyware is not only an invasion of privacy, but it can also enable the theft of sensitive corporate data. Additionally, spyware increases support costs by causing system instability and decreases productivity due to computer downtime and unnecessary bandwidth usage.

Trend Micro has just announced a series of new products and services designed to combat spyware in the enterprise. Through a multi-layered approach, these offerings, designed for the Internet gateway, server, and desktop, combine with Trend Micro’s world-class antivirus capabilities to provide customers with a comprehensive, manageable, and highly scalable solution.

Anti-spyware Products

Trend Micro™ InterScan™ Web Security Suite 2.0 blocks spyware from entering the network at the gateway; the first line of defence in the enterprise. InterScan Web Security Suite can also block outbound communications attempting to disclose private information to third parties. When it detects spyware attempting to “phone home” with private information it initiates agent-less clean up* of the infected client to eradicate the spyware.

Trend Micro OfficeScan™ 7.0 (available in select markets) blocks and cleans unwanted spyware, adware, remote access tools, and hacking tools at the server and the desktop. Administrators can easily customize Trend Micro’s spyware detection and blocking based on their organizational security policies.

In addition, Trend Micro™ Damage Cleanup Services helps automate the clean up of spyware* and other malware on any server or desktop, whether an antivirus program is installed on them or not. Trend Micro Control Manager™ also coordinates Trend Micro’s products and services under a single Web-based management console.
