To resolve the issue:
- Download pattern file 2.596.00 or later on the OfficeScan Server.
- Delete lpt$vpn.593 and lpt$vpn.594 from the \PCCSRV directory on the OfficeScan Server.
- Deploy the new pattern to OfficeScan clients.
- Perform the Rollback command from the OfficeScan Server.
- Delete lpt$vpn.593 and lpt$vpn.594 from the \PCCSRV directory on the OfficeScan Server.
- Wait for the clients to rollback and stabilize.
- Download pattern file 2.596.00 or later on the OfficeScan Server.
- Deploy the new pattern file to the OfficeScan clients.
- Start the machine in safe mode:
- If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
- Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
- Start entering the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears.
Note: If the Keyboard Error message appears, restart the computer and try again.
- Select the Safe mode option.
Note: For users who use domain accounts to login to their machine, select "Safe Mode with networking".
- Press Enter. The computer will then begin to start in Safe mode.
- Go to the ..\Officescan NT directory then delete lpt$vpn.593 and lpt$vpn.594.
- Make sure there is an older pattern available.
- Reboot the computer and go back to Normal mode.
Note: Make sure the update source has Pattern 596 or higher.
- Update the OfficeScan client to Pattern 596.
