Relocation Project Case Study

Panetta McGrath is a boutique law firm in Perth specialising in Workplace Relations, Employment, Health, Aged Care and Retirement Living Laws.  Panetta McGrath combine specialist legal knowledge with extensive industry experience to deliver clear, practical legal advice and representation.


Panetta McGrath’s expanding team meant upgrading accommodation and looking to relocate to a larger office. In 2021, after nearly a year of planning, they had found the right place to call their new home and began the process of relocating.  
To ensure this move went smoothly, Panetta McGrath contracted OIA to plan out the move of their technology and ensure the process was as seamless as possible.

OIA’s team was engaged to assist with all aspects of the relocation project - from procurement, setting up and installation of new workstations and monitors for 30+ staff members right through to un-racking server and communication
equipment. This required OIA to work closely with both building management and Panetta McGrath to ensure the communication room was set up to run efficiently.  

When asked, Panetta McGrath Office Manager Stella Pelle happily acknowledged that OIA’s reliability and assistance was “Beyond Valuable” while also adding that “Overall, I was very happy with the relocation experience with OIA, and I would not hesitate to use them again.

During this time the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic had surfaced with huge delays being experienced in the supply chain. OIA’s procurement team began working closely with trusted suppliers to source appropriate stock and in some cases having stock reserved to ensure availability. With the pandemic’s influence on shipping, OIA worked around the clock to ensure that the products required to finalise the relocation would be available to Panetta McGrath on time and involved sourcing material from multiple vendors so there was no impact on the target move date.  

At the same time, OIA and Panetta McGrath continuously followed COVID protocols to ensure the safety of staff and contractors.  Collaborating with building management and architects, OIA ensured cabling points, power points, server rack location and Wi-Fi access points were correct before the relocation to make the transition smooth for all Panetta McGrath staff.  Panetta McGrath staff were equipped with the required technology needed to complete function from day 1 seamlessly.
