Solution Spotlight: iManage Information Governance

Many of our customers have been talking to us about their Information Governance needs and initiatives when it comes to data security and potential data leakage - we see the key drivers for firms addressing these areas are:

> Threat of cyber-attacks such as phishing or malicious users

> Client demands, engagements often stipulating how data is protected and who has access

> Regulations, including recent EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

iManage can help your organisation address and defend against these threats using both Segregation of Data on a need-to-know basis and Detection of Abnormal Behaviour as indication of a breach. OIA can help implement the following iManage solutions which embody these approaches.

Product Spotlight: iManage Security Policy Manager (SPM)

Security Policy Manager is a new product recently released by iManage which is mainly concerned with two main areas, need-to-know access and ethical walls. SPM is focused on not only securing critical data but also making it easier for users to manage themselves.

SPM quickly and seamlessly provides effective data segregation with multiple security policy types (need-to-know, conflicted users, opposing clients/engagements) and protecting multiple systems (iManage Work, IRM, file shares, time & billing). It's designed for volume and complexity of policies needed to protect organisations today.

Benefits

> Single application to manage ethical walls and need to know - balancing security with usability

> Flexibility to manage authorisation on a matter by matter basis plus delegation of responsibility

> Extensive reporting to support client security audits

> No reindexing of Security Policy changes - policies are effective IMMEDIATELY

Product Spotlight: iManage Threat Manager (TM)

Threat Manager closes the gap where traditional security measures are not sufficient by mitigating the risk of exposure of sensitive information from internal and external attacks plus discovery of at-risk behaviour with the highest level of accuracy and efficiency.

Today's cyber enemies could take the form of malicious insiders, departing staff or highly efficient criminal or state groups who can harvest low volumes over long periods to avoid detection. TM uses smart analytics and AI to detect and mitigate risks from internal + external threats. How does it work? Learns how users typically access content and assesses normal behaviour by groups or individuals Defines thresholds for normal user behaviour based on millions of historical transactions Assigns risk scores to all behaviour deviations using proprietary algorithms Supports detection, investigation and reporting of internal and external threats to protect your sensitive data

iManage Work Tips and Tricks Known issue with Office 365 Updates

A number of issues have been identified with the recent Office 365 update 1802, released by Microsoft.  Further details on how the issue may manifest can be found here. The workaround is to roll back to the previous Office 365 update: version 1801. Customers should include reviewing any Office 365 updates applied to any system that is experiencing issues within the Office application suite. Issues opening documents with FileSite/DeskSite 9.3.4 with DDE enabled Microsoft recently disabled DDE by default in the Office Suite and the iManage 9.3.4 clients no longer use DDE, however issues may be seen opening documents under some conditions with the default iManage DDE configuration in place – a “could not launch application” error is seen and the document will not open. The workaround is to disable the DDE configuration within the App Setup or Local Application entry. For further information on the implications of disabling DDE, please click here.

For further information on any of the above, please contact OIA on +61 8 9223 1700 or info@officeinfo.com.au.
