Out Now: Game-Changing Enhancements

iManage Next Generation Co-authoring


iManage has introduced new co-authoring capabilities, designed to make real-time collaboration smoother and more reliable than ever.


What’s New:


  • Multiple users can now edit the same document simultaneously, with changes instantly visible to all collaborators.

  • Changes auto save to Work, reducing the risk of lost edits.

  • Files never leave iManage and can be accessed via Office Online or Office Desktop client.

  • Enhanced performance delivers a faster, more responsive experience, even with large documents or remote teams.

iManage File Transfer


iManage File Transfer is a lightweight browser extension that enables secure, seamless file exchange between iManage Work and web-based systems, without saving documents locally. It streamlines workflows by eliminating manual download and upload steps.

  • Direct uploads from iManage to court portals, government systems, and e-discovery platforms

  • Secure downloads from websites directly into iManage Workspaces

  • Full audit trails for every file transfer

  • Zero local storage, reducing risk and boosting compliance

Microsoft Teams Integration


With the new iManage integration for Microsoft Teams, users can now bring their document workflows directly into the tools they use every day. This update bridges the gap between communication and content management, making collaboration more intuitive and efficient.

  • Access and share iManage documents directly within Microsoft Teams channels and chats.

  • Collaborate and edit files in real time without switching between platforms.

  • Maintain full document security and compliance while working inside Teams.

  • Save Teams meeting and chat directly into iManage Work.

iManage E-signature (with DocuSign)


iManage E-signature integration enables users to send, manage, and track DocuSign signature requests directly from iManage Work. With just a right-click, users can launch signing workflows, configure recipients, and automatically file signed documents back into their workspace—no downloads, no switching platforms.

  • Now available for DocuSign

  • Launch signature requests directly from iManage Work

  • Configure signatories and roles in one step

  • Real-time status tracking and notifications

  • Signed documents auto-returned to their original location

Compliance Portal


As regulatory requirements grow more complex, organisations need access to compliance and security documentation to manage their compliance management processes.

The new iManage Compliance Portal provides a centralised hub for iManage customers to access questionnaires, certificates and attestations all in one secure place.


What’s New:


  • A new iManage Compliance Portal making the compliance management process more secure, efficient and straightforward.

  • Simple to navigate with the ability to use a Chatbot feature where you can ask compliance and security related questions and receive answers based on the content within the portal.


Why It Matters: This portal empowers compliance teams and administrators with easy access to iManage Compliance and Security content. It helps ensure your organisation remains audit-ready and aligned with industry regulations.

iManage Configuration File Editor


Configuring iManage Work Desktop for Windows just got a whole lot easier. The new iManage Configuration File Editor is a purpose-built utility that simplifies the creation and management of key configuration files, specifically imEMM.config and imWorkOptions.xml.


Key Features:


  • Create new configuration files using sample files as a starting point.

  • Edit existing configuration files through a structured, user-friendly interface—no need to manually edit XML.

  • Compare files side-by-side to quickly identify differences between versions.

  • Merge configurations seamlessly, making it easier to consolidate changes across environments.


Why It Matters: This tool is designed to be intuitive, efficient, and reliable - ideal for IT administrators managing multiple desktop setups or rolling out updates across teams.

Storage Management Enhancements


As part of ongoing improvements to iManage Cloud, Optical Character Recognition (OCR) has been upgraded to deliver better performance and offers broader language support, while also helping organisations manage their storage more efficiently.


OCR for cloudimanage.com

In early 2025, OCR for cloudimanage.com transitioned to Azure Document Intelligence, bringing more advanced capabilities to document processing. Here’s what’s new:


  • OCR will support all languages supported by iManage Work: English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, German, French, and Portuguese.

  • OCR now supports handwritten text.

  • OCR will process documents up to 150 pages.

  • OCR results are saved as shadow copies, meaning they’re not directly visible to users but are used to enable keyword search and highlighting during iManage Preview.


Storage Impact:

Starting with your June 2025 invoice, storage generated by OCR will no longer count toward your storage limit. This change is reflected in your Trust Center Dashboard, helping you better manage capacity without compromising search functionality.


OCR for imanage.work

OCR functionality in imanage.work follows similar eligibility rules, only fully image-based PDFs under 150 pages are processed. However, the way OCR results are stored differs:


  • By default, OCR’d content is saved as a new version under the original document number.

  • Alternatively, organizations can opt for Replacement OCR, where the OCR’d result replaces the original document in place. The original version remains accessible via the Journaling feature in Timeline.


This flexibility allows organisations to choose how OCR impacts their document lifecycle and versioning strategy.

Ask iManage is an AI assistant embedded directly into iManage Work, designed to streamline legal workflows by helping users search, summarize, extract, and analyse content, all without leaving their workspace. Paired with the Wayfinder program, organisations gain a structured, expert-led path to AI adoption, complete with enablement, onboarding, and ongoing support. Key Features:


  • Delivers instant answers from your documents, helping you find information fast.

  • Summarises key facts, positions, or arguments so you can grasp the essentials quickly.

  • You can extract specific clauses or sections from one or multiple files for easy comparison.

  • It organises legal content into timelines, tables, or bullet lists to support structured analysis.

  • Every response includes citations, so you always know where the information came from.
