This current edition of our Technical Services Group newsletter has a focus on security. In recent months we have seen an explosion in security threats with businesses being increasingly exposed to loss of data and ransomware like never before. Mitigating risk versus the cost of implementing security can be difficult to balance and OIA are here to help you determine what is most appropriate for your business.
Also in this edition, we introduce our clients to Microsoft Teams. You may be aware of Teams as a messaging and collaboration tool, but did you know you can replace your corporate phone solution with Teams as well?
Finally, we would like to notify our clients that due to a global chip shortage, supply of devices such as PC’s and Laptops has longer than usual lead times. If you are planning to take advantage of EOFY tax benefits, you need to place your hardware orders immediately.
Please contact us if any of these topics resonate and you would like to explore further.
Regards,
David Shine

Microsoft Teams
Corporate Phone System
Replace traditional office phones by integrating business phone lines with Microsoft Teams. Teams calling is an innovative solution that allows you to connect with internal and external parties anywhere, anytime whilst maintaining the flexibility of a desk phone with traditional functions like hold, transfer, forwarding, and voicemail all while working in the Teams app. Speed up daily tasks by seeing who in your network is available and contact them on the most appropriate channel: voice, video-calling, or chat. Create custom greetings, play music for customers waiting on hold, and set up shared voicemail or redirect calls to the appropriate department to minimise the wait time for clients.
Teams Collaboration
Microsoft Teams is the hub for team collaboration of Office 365 that integrates the people, content, and tools your team needs to be more engaged and effective. Meeting features such as scheduling assistance, note-taking, screen sharing, meeting recording and content sharing Microsoft Teams helps automate the full cycle of meetings and saves time for your business to focus on what matters. Audio Conferencing in Microsoft Teams allows the flexibility for on the go attendees to call in to meetings from their phones without needing the Teams application.
If you would like a demonstration on Microsoft Teams and its functionality, or to discuss how it could benefit your business please contact us.
Security Review
With the ever-changing security landscape, it is important to review the security of your environment on a regular basis, and with the ever-increasing amount attacks, it is important that your security defenses are relevant and align with security best practices. OIA strongly recommend implementing security features such as:
Implementing monitoring of Microsoft 365 and Azure AD using Azure Sentinel
Multifactor Authentication for all access to Microsoft 365, Cloud Applications and remote access to on-premise servers
Blocking automatic forwards of emails to external recipients (such as forwarding through Outlook rules)
Restricting staff from consenting to new applications in Microsoft 365/Azure AD
Restricting access to Microsoft 365, Cloud Applications, on-premise servers to the specific countries your end users reside in
To organise a review of your Microsoft 365 and on-premise environment please contact us.
